How can we improve Simkl?

  1. Add With a click and scan in Browser.

    when on a web page any at all and a video player is available and the add on clicked have a scan button that will look for the name of the movie or tv show. and allow you to add it to your list and/or say what episode of the show they just watched.

  2. Block specific languages in suggestions

    I find it really annoying that I get Indian, Chinese, Russian or French spoken language titles coming up regularly in my suggested movie options. The only mildly bollywood film I've ever watched is 'bend it like beckam', however ever since watching it I get loads of Indian language suggestions. I like anime, so suddenly I get Chinese language live action titles. I speak German, so I'm Ok with German titles but for some reason I also get inundated with French ones? I've no idea why its suggesting Russian.

    Is is possible to block specific languages from suggestions? Can I just…

  4. Mark watched first episode of a show

    In the mobile app, I can mark an episode as watched from the Watching list. Nice! But it doesn't work for the first episode of a show: It doesn't open the expanded view with the Mark as Watched button, but immediately opens the show details where I have to manually go to the season list, then the episode list, then mark the first one as watched. Only after that will the quick mark watched feature work.

  5. Share episode rate and comments to Twitter

    I know you recently improved the Twitter integration by supporting rate sharing, but it would be great to improve this further by sharing TV episodes rate and comments, just like Trakt TV. Trakt also allows to rate single seasons, so it could be a good addition.

  6. Display IMDB episode and season ratings

    When listing seasons and episodes of a show, display ratings from IMDB for each episode and each season. Rating episodes and seasons on Simkl would be great too, but this seems like a much easier thing to implement that would meet half the need: answering the question of which episodes to skip!

  7. Episode Count Improvements

    UK TV shows often air specials, especially Christmas Specials. Since they're not part of any season, these specials do not count toward the show's episode count. But they should!

    The specials on TVDB used to be a mess, but have recently been organized and categorized. Any special listed as an "Episodic Special" is a valid episode of the show, and should be counted in the show's episode count.

    Furthermore, Unassigned Episodes are currently counted, but shouldn't be!

  8. Show friends' statuses on product page

    Currently I can only see their ratings on the right side, but it would be nice to see their statuses as well (planned, seen etc...). Because now I have no way of knowing if they have seen something but didn't rate it.

  13. When will the review series/movie feature be available?

    Love what I've seen so far of Simkl! When will the review feature and the friends feature be available? Also is there a possibility for a "recommend to friend" feature in the future? Where you can recommend shows and movies to your friends and they can do the same. I think that would be good.

  14. Add functionality to /tv page

    From the tv shows list (userid/tv), you've provided a great chart that should be good for bulk editing. Especially after the initial "import from Netflix" event, my TV list has a ton of shows listed but not differentiated. From this page, it is fairly easy to click down each one and providing a rating. Should also be able to categorize as watching/want to watch/etc. Given that the imports contain a lot of shows that I have watched in the past, I'd recommend a new default category for these that sorts below "Watching" (which I think of as my "current" shows).…

    -the ability to scroll in Recently Watched for older watched stuff
    -show "more menu" and rating option in all categories
    -show the title in "more menu" or under the poster (sometimes the poster it's not enough)
    -mark episodes as watched from my list in dashboard

  18. More countries in the countries tab.

    Adding more countries to separate the shows that it's based in. So, for example, include countries like Australia and India has a lot of shows have come from that area.

  19. A True Simkl Plugin For Plex

    I'm currently using the Simkl Webhook with Plex, which is good btw, but we need something that's a little more versatile, along the lines of a true Plex plugin, that's not restricted to just marking shows/movies as watched based on what's currently being watched with Plex. Something along the lines of the Trakt plugin, that can also be adjusted to Push all-time watched statuses, watched progress, ratings, lists, newly acquired shows, removed shows, etc associated with your entire Plex library over to Simkl, or Pull the aforementioned from your Simkl library and sync it with Plex. That would be ultimate…

  20. Change history check from every 5 mins to daily or weekly sync.

    Allow an option to change when the extension performs a sync of watch list. I think daily or weekly is sufficient .
