UX enhancement - Unify the search box
Summary : Users are dumb, help them and reduce the simkl teams support workload.
The vast majority of support threads are along the lines of "My show/movie/animie" is not listed
🔹 Missing - 68 support threads
🔹 Missing Movie - 244 support threads
🔹 Missing tv show - 358 support threadsIf the search results were unified i.e. searching for "Utopia" gives the result for the TV Show, The Movie and The Anime, in one place, reducing the number of "my thing is missing / please add it" threads would be reduced.
Lets assume that most users will…

Language support
Unfortunately, unlike other tracker apps, you don't provide service to people in their own language. Even if the app requires simple English, being able to use it in your native language would be a big plus. I am sure that with the help of users, the localization process will be very easy.

Enhancing Media Ratings: Introducing half point ratings!
As you are aware, the current rating system for programs, movies, and other media allows for ratings on a scale of 1 to 10. I propose an enhancement to this system by introducing the ability to rate in half-point increments, such as 4.5 stars or 9.5 stars. This modification would provide a more precise and nuanced rating capability, allowing users to evaluate programs, movies, and anime with greater accuracy.

Option for dub-only episode count on anime
I don't know if this would be harder to code than I think, but now that there's an option for separate sub/dub notifications, I think it would be useful to have an option to only count dub episodes in the total number. So, for example, I have a series that says there are 9 episodes out, but only 7 are dubbed. And sometimes dubs happen later, so it will say the whole season is out when only 1 or 2 episodes are available in English.

After selecting episode as watched automatically refresh 'next episode to watch' info panel
When you select episodes as watched, you have to manually refresh the page for the 'your next episode to watch' info panel to update.
It would be great if the 'your next episode to watch' info panel automatically refreshed after you select episodes as watched.

Multiple profiles in one account
I would love to have 2 profiles in my account. At this moment I have the SImkl account for content I've seen in English language. And additionally I have a trakt account for content I've seen in my own language (German). To combine it in one account would be a dream for me!

Calendar not showing multiple episodes aired in same day
When multiple episodes from the same TV Show air on the same day (for example Netflix shows which usually air all episodes on the same day, or shows such as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man airs multiple episodes in a single day), only a single episode entry appears in the TV Episode Calendar.
Ideally, there should be a way to show all aired episodes in the Calendar.

Allow Hiding/Deleting Custom Lists
I want to have more control over how many custom lists I have to scroll through to find things.
I would like a way to hide/delete custom lists (particularly the AI recommendation lists) to reduce clutter.6 votes -
Extend the "mark as watched" functionality of Summary tab to Episodes tab
The mark as watched functionality of the Summary tab on the main page of each show is great. It would be nice if that could be extended to the Episode tab.
Ideally, an overlay would be added to the graphic of each episode that allows the user to mark that and all previous episodes as watched, same as clicking the episodes "dot" in the Summary tab.
Because of my specific use case, I have to manually mark my episodes as watched. The functionality of the Summary tab is great for marking large blocks of episodes, but I often need to…
7 votesWe do that on mobile interface, need to rewrite for desktop. Alternativly you can click on the episode and use the "Mark as watched" button on the episode page itself.

Stop using AI to create advertising and marketing assets
Y'all should know better than using the art plagiarism machine to promote a website dedicated to the appreciate of art. And if you try to censor anyone dissenting on this you're just gonna ensure that they never, ever support your site.

Display If an anime is Dubbed on the anime’s webpage
When looking at an anime’s webpage it could say “English dub” next to the other tags related to show. Or include that it’s dubbed somewhere on the anime’s page.

Personal recommendations based on personal ratings
Currently, Simkl generates recommendations based on what you've watched. It would be much better to build recommendations based on personal ratings. For example, I don't want to see something similar that I marked as 1-5, for example, which is kind of more logical.

Movie Edition Relationships
Much like how Anime entries can show “Directly Related” or “Indirectly Related” series, the Movies page should also highlight special editions and alternate cuts.
By introducing relational links for various movie versions—such as Extended Edition, Director’s Cut, Blu-ray Edition, Uncensored, and Unrated—users can easily see every variant in one place.
Suggested Edition Categories:
Extended Edition
Director’s Cut
Blu-ray Edition
Uncensored Edition
Unrated Version
And few more...
Examples of Related Editions:
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version
Spider-Man: No Way Home – Extended Edition
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the…

Customizable Rating Date/Time
Currently there is no option to be able to set any “Custom Watched” date hopefully it will be available soon, but the rating date is always locked to “now.”
That often creates confusion—especially if you watched something weeks ago and only just gave it a score.
Consider adding an option where, When you mark a title as “Watched” (and haven’t rated it yet),
you’re prompted to rate it immediately, with the rating date automatically matching your watched date.
At minimum, providing a way to manually edit the rating date would be a big improvement. (When you rated this)

Historical Popularity Metrics (e.g., “Peak Rating Charts / Ranking”)
A user maintains a personal library of movies and TV shows and wants to uncover which titles were exceptionally popular at any point in time—rather than only seeing their current standing.
For example, among 100 saved films, some may have once ranked in the Top 10, even if they’re no longer trending today.
Offering a way to sort and filter by historical popularity would help surface those past hits.
Suggested Metrics:
Peak Rank: The highest position a title ever achieved on the charts.
Duration at Peak Rank: Number of days/weeks a title remained at its all-time best position.
Total Days/Weeks…
