1. After import, I can't see what was not imported

   I imported one of my anime trakt lists but it then says "4 not anime" but there's no way to find out what they are! A larger issue is then just to allow us to have multi-medium lists. I don't unsterstand why they have to be discretely separated into TV, Movies, or Anime

2. default timezone results in inaccurate watch dates when importing Letterboxd data

   Data exported from Letterboxd does not include full datetimes on items, but rather just the date. When importing data from Letterboxd, Simkl interprets that date as being 12 AM UTC on that day.

   This can result in an off-by-one day error when converting the date to the user's current timezone.

   For example, if a movie's watched date is 2026-07-20 in the Letterboxd export data, Simkl will record the movie as having been watched on 2026-07-20 at 12 AM UTC. If a user in Los Angeles then views their watch history in Simkl, it will show the movie as having been watched on 2026-07-19 at 5 PM.

   Defaulting to the user's selected timezone rather than UTC could help address this issue. Some arbitrary time will still need to be chosen since Simkl requires a time to be associated. Even with a correct timezone, 12 AM might not be the best default since it means the off-by-one issue could reoccur if the user moves even one timezone over and wants to update their account's timezone to reflect that move. Something like 12 PM might be a bit more resilient in that the date will still be accurate when moving up to ~12 timezones over in either direction.

   I imagine this issue could be present with other data sources as well, depending on whether they use full datetimes and whether they include a timezone/use UTC. I can only speak from experience for Letterboxd data, however.

   (Personal take, feel free to ignore) As a side note, I'm not a huge fan of watch dates being timezoned in the first place. If I watched a movie at 8 PM in one timezone, I'm more interested in seeing it displayed as 8 PM no matter where I am. I suppose that functionality can be accomplished by just not updating the timezone setting when moving, however, so maybe it's a non-issue.

3. Letterboxd import: prefer watched date from diary.csv over watched.csv for more accurate watch dates

   If today I were to go into Letterboxd and log a movie as having been watched a year ago, there will be two entries that show up in my exported Letterboxd data. One in watched.csv, with today's date associated with it, and one in diary.csv with the actual watch date associated with it.

   Currently Simkl is marking imported movies with the watched.csv dates only, even in cases where more accurate dates for items can be found in diary.csv. It should use dates from diary.csv instead where available.

   Note that it is possible to mark a movie as watched in Letterboxd without recording the specific date. In this case there will be no diary.csv entry, and it would be necessary to fallback to using the watched.csv entry as an indicator that the movie has been watched. In that case, using the date added as the watched date would probably be the best guess.

   Also note that unlike watched.csv, diary.csv may have multiple entries for the same movie if it was logged for multiple watches on different dates.

4. Import Streaming Platform Watchlists to "Plan to Watch"

   Simkl does a great job tracking what we’ve already watched, but it completely skips over unwatched shows saved to our platform-specific watchlists—like Crunchyroll’s My Queue or Netflix’s My List. These lists often represent what we actually plan to watch next, but Simkl doesn’t import them.

   The Request:
   Let users import their unwatched watchlist items from supported streaming services into Simkl’s “Plan to Watch” list. Start with Crunchyroll and expand from there.

   How It Could Work:

   A one-time bulk import of saved-but-unwatched shows

   Optional auto-sync to keep things updated when users add new items

   Avoid duplicates by checking against the existing Simkl library

   What users would be able to do with this feature:

   User selects “Import Watchlists” in Simkl or the browser extension

   Connects to supported streaming accounts (e.g. Crunchyroll)

   Simkl shows the list of unwatched saved shows

   One-click to import them into “Plan to Watch”

   Option to turn on ongoing sync

   Why This Matters:

   Saves users time by automatically migrating years of saved shows

   Prevents forgotten shows that fall through the cracks

   Makes Simkl a true hub for planning and tracking all watching, not just what’s been started

   Final Thought:
   This feature would solve a long-standing user problem, give Simkl a unique advantage over other trackers, and help users get more value from their accounts with less manual work.

5. Add the ability to track the watching of Live events (e.g. Sports)

   Add the ability to search for and track track watching of sporting events like NFL, UFC, soccer/football, Olympics, NCAA etc. It seems it would be its own new category, but at least having the ability somewhere would be fantastic.

6. Hide watched movies also on netflix app adding watched titles to parental control

   Adding a title to the parent control of the profile will hid the title also on the tv and mobile app.

   Would be a nice extra also to remove these titles from parental control if a new episode or season has been released.

8. Sync with Plex Watchlist

   Now that Plex has fully released its Discover feature I find myself using its Watchlist a lot to mark things that I plan to watch. It would be great if that could be imported to Simkl. And if possible (but I imagine difficult) also sync the other way, from Simkl to Plex's Watchlist.

   I'm aware that Plex does not have an "official" API, but the endpoints exist and quite a few apps already use them. Overseerr for example has Watchlist integration as well: https://github.com/sct/overseerr/blob/be047427df62e480fc9b69cb93258837ed72bcf4/server/api/plextv.ts#L263.

   The best alternative at the moment would be to create Collected custom list to add titles to it that you own.

10. Image add

    Image for Henry Danger's "The Fate of Danger: Part II" (https://www.thetvdb.com/series/henry-danger/episodes/7608679) (https://simkl.com/tv/52752/henry-danger/season-5/episode-40/) has not loaded in on Simkl. Thought it had to do with me setting the show to 'ended' on TheTVDB, but that didn't fix it. It's the only episode of Henry Danger whose image isn't up on Simkl. Once this is fixed, series should be all complete on here. Thanks in advance.

12. Favourite shows

    As well as you can mark tv shows, series and cartoons as "watching" or "on hold". There should be a favourite option, so you can keep track of your favourite shows.

    You can change\remove your watching status and rating in tv\movie details. Will look into how we can make the overwrite function for stuff already on your watchlist without breaking what you have already marked as watched.
