More obvious UX for marking a show as watched, planning to watch, etc
Every time I go to change the status of a movie or TV show from planning to watch to watched or something like that, there's some brief confusion as to what the status is. The UI just doesn't make it very obvious if an option is selected or not already. I would really like to see improvement here

Upgrade apps
Please expand the functionality of the applications. At the moment, the available options are very limited.
Add the same features that already exist on the website: adding friends, creating lists, ratings and reviews, and full profile functionality.
Also, enable subscription purchases directly through the app.
Please ensure that when users tap on buttons, they are not redirected to the website, but can access all features within the app itself.18 votesKeep in mind that Simkl Lists is designed to be very simple, with a primary function to quickly mark something as watched.
You can install Simkl V2 Beta as a PWA on mobile devices for full functionality using this tutorial: https://docs.simkl.org/how-to-use-simkl/advanced-usage/platform-integration/mobile-apps/home-screen-app

Android app improvement idea
It would be more ideal to have the mobile apps be given the ability of the Crunchyroll / Netflix enhancer extension on Google Chrome. That way once you log in to your streaming services, you would be able to have them synced every half hour like the Google Chrome extension does.

Android app improvement
I think it would be a convenient way to keep shows tracked if the mobile app had the feature of the chrome extension, that would allow you to log into the streaming services and like the Crunchyroll/Netflix enhacher, be able to automatically sync your watch history every half hour or so

Retro Crush isn't just free. It has a no ads paid section. $5 a month for zero ads. Much better. This should be noted.
Technically it's on my TCL tv. Google TV. Could be online.. But still it has Zero ads because I'm paying for it. You don't have RetroCrush down as paid. And it's darn cheap for getting rid of the ads...

Widgets on phone app
Widgets for calendars would be very cool. That way, you can see your calendar from your phone without looking at the app itself. TV Time has similar widgets, and I would love to see this from Simkl.

Mark watched first episode of a show
In the mobile app, I can mark an episode as watched from the Watching list. Nice! But it doesn't work for the first episode of a show: It doesn't open the expanded view with the Mark as Watched button, but immediately opens the show details where I have to manually go to the season list, then the episode list, then mark the first one as watched. Only after that will the quick mark watched feature work.

Mobile Website vs the Mobile App
The mobile website is very aesthetically pleasing to look at but the app is so bland and boring by comparison, I included a side by side pic. Itd be nice if the app was updated to look like the mobile site. Also, please add a way for us to update our watching from the homepage of the mobile site. Currently on the mobile site you have to tap on a show and go to another page to update your watched episodes but we should be able to do that right from the homepage. Underneath each show on the Watch Next…

Right now you can add the website to your Home screen which will work as an app on your phone. Here’s how:
iPad or iPhone
Launch Safari app. *Please note that this does not work from the “Chrome” app.Enter into the address field the https://simkl.com URL of the website you want to create a shortcut to. Tap Go.
Tap the icon featuring a right-pointing arrow coming out of a box along the top of the Safari window to open a drop-down menu.
Tap Add to Home Screen. The “Add to Home” dialog box will appear, with the icon that will be used for this website on the left side of the dialog box.
Enter the name for the shortcut using the on-screen keyboard and tap Add. Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPad’s desktop.

Change the color of the app icon
App icon in status bar is almost white, when the background is white it just disappears.
Or, can users select which color they want to use? Maybe in a future update?13 votes -

Android navigation improvements
In the Android app, swiping left/right should navigate between the tabs (seen/aired/next for shows, year/dvd/n for movies).
Would also be nice if swiping back on movie/show details to go back.12 votes -
