How can we improve Simkl?

  1. Retro Crush isn't just free. It has a no ads paid section. $5 a month for zero ads. Much better. This should be noted.

    Technically it's on my TCL tv. Google TV. Could be online.. But still it has Zero ads because I'm paying for it. You don't have RetroCrush down as paid. And it's darn cheap for getting rid of the ads...

  2. Android app improvement

    I think it would be a convenient way to keep shows tracked if the mobile app had the feature of the chrome extension, that would allow you to log into the streaming services and like the Crunchyroll/Netflix enhacher, be able to automatically sync your watch history every half hour or so

  4. I would like to filter on premiere calendars like between languages

    I frequently use the premiere calender to find new shows and movies to watch for the next month but it is really annoying and honestly scary to see such a long list and I would love to have a filter where I can just filter based on language or other categories to see what I am interested in

  8. Ignore tags while generating recommendation

    I kinda would like if I can make recommendations ignore specific tags when generating
    because everytimes it fills it with christmas movies and talking animals movies which I just don't watch and don't want to watch (maybe with even possibility to still have sequels in)

  9. API access to comments

    I don’t see API documentation for listing or posting comments. Unlocking that feature for third party clients would help comments sections be more lively. Thanks!

  10. Finished seasons on profile page

    I don't want to be seen as ungratefull because the site is really good and shouldn't be taken for granded but all this time I was thinking that, to me, it would be great if I could have in my profile page, among the premiers, last aired etc a category/carusel "Just Finished" (season*), because I prefair to bing my series.

  11. 2 way Sync with Emby Server

    The Emby plugin for SIMKL is helpful but not very sophisticated, the effort the dev put it is obviously appreciated but wouldn't it be great to have an official SIMKL version that had two way syncing, it'd be great to change the watch state on either platform and have that sync across.

    As a side note, also have the 2 way sync work when manually marking something as watched, currently the Emby plugin only works when the watch state reaches a pre-defined % that's set-up when you configure the plugin.

  12. Context-Aware Dynamic Footer Links

    The current footer is identical across most SIMKL pages and feels repetitive. It would be great if it became context-aware, showing useful links based on the section you're browsing.

    (At least, for regular SIMKL members, who are familiar with the website)

    This would make the footer more useful, improve content discovery, and give each section of SIMKL a more dynamic feel without changing the main UI.

    Instead of displaying the same links everywhere, why not make the footer context-aware and adapt based on the section the user is currently browsing?

  13. more TVTIME alike feature

    so i recently came to this site from app.tvtime and they were very good but now they are gone this website is as close of a good website as them now it need more improvement and if you guys try to do some slimier stuff like apptvtime your website will be better for user attraction

  14. Recap for: Movies & Anime Episodes

    Noticed that Episode Recap is currently only shown on TV Shows... Its missing on Anime Episode/Films & Also Movies.

    Chapter-Based Recaps for 2–3 Hour Movies:

    Feature-length movies can be a lot to digest!

    It’d be great to have Scene-by-Scene Chapter Recaps for long films, breaking the plot down into timestamped chapters so users can easily catch up or refresh their memory on specific parts of the movie without rewatching the whole thing.

    • Spoiler Protection: Keep scene-by-scene recaps hidden by default, revealing them only for users who have marked the movie as "Watched", with an explicit click-to-reveal warning for anyone willing…

  16. Anime Filler Episode Page

    Example Pages:

    The current filler list page on SIMKL is very amazingly designed it pretty much has all that a user require, but still a few features that would make it overpowered for anime fans, that are missing like:

    1. Ability to hide episode title (Spoiler protections)

    2. A lot of time, new watcher of Naruto or Bleach or One Piece, often have the same question,

    • Can I Skip this episode?
    • Is this episode worth watching?
    • Is this filler actually good?
    • Safe to Skip?

    3. Maybe also showing a small stats for: Watched

  17. Movie not appearing on profile

    The movie Kubi (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27502365/) doesn't show on the plan-to-watch or completed lists. It was also hard to find on a normal search (I had to use the imdb tag).

  18. In calendar view, Tuesday never shows up.

    In my calendar view, the day "Tuesday" never shows up and subsequently shows & movies that air on Tuesday never show up in my calendar.

    Does anyone else have this problem and can this be investigated?
