How can we improve Simkl?

  2. wrong output from filters

    Hi devs,

    Me once more, it's just an heads up.
    I complained a while ago about timeouts and wrong outputs because of that. And that was fixed, as i was really happy to see that to be fixed.
    After the fix i added a ton of series to my list and now I see that the results when looking for series "not in my list" i get a result back, but it still contains items from my list.

    I'm not looking for a solution on this issue because i am that one off.

    But it's more a kind of kudos…

  3. iOS 1Password login integration (with GitHub link)

    Please add 1Password login support.

    I routinely get logged out, don’t know why, and I use an email and ungodly long password that I keep in 1Password. It’s kind of a PITA to nav to the email login page, flip to 1Password, copy email, flip to SIMKL, flip back for the password, then flip to SIMKL.

    Bonus annoying is usually I’m trying to open the app and search for something in my clipboard. Obviously this doesn’t work when I discover I got logged out.

    Hi Jeffrey. could you please let us know at [email protected] in what app do you log in, or website and in which OS\browser. Have you tried connecting your Facebook or Google account in login settings so you don’t have to enter the password?

  4. roku integration

    I love the Netflix features in the Chrome extension; I actually joined SIMKL for the Random button. I'd love to see those features available when watching Netflix in other ways, specifically through the Netflix app on Roku. Not sure if it's at all technically possible, but if it is, please consider it.

  5. Display episodes as an overview list with names and watched button. (For unordered TV series)

    Simki works well for series that are logically ordered into seasons, but not for episode which are disjoint. I'm watching episodes of the NHK documentary series Begin Japanology:

    I would like to be able to easily mark some episodes watched, but I haven't watched them in any particular order.

    Currently I can mark episodes by season, but without labels, which is useless since episode number has no meaning. If I go to the episode page, I have to individually click into an episode to mark it as viewed, which is horrifically inconvenient.

    What I need is an option to…

    You can change\remove your watching status and rating in tv\movie details. Will look into how we can make the overwrite function for stuff already on your watchlist without breaking what you have already marked as watched.

  7. Habitica

    I'm sure I'm not the only one with issues with instant gratification as well as finding time to watch movies and TV.

    And seeing as how Habitica is a habit building website with a feature for miscellaneous good and bad things, I could see potential in creating functionality so that when you check off an episode or a movie as watched Habitica rewards you.

    Heck, for extra greatness, there could be functionality for other things on the site, like creating ratings and reviews, which also benefits Simkl for things like that feature for finding friends with TV and Movie compatibility.

  8. Multiple types of list view

    Would be nice to have options to choose how to view a list: 1. Default view with the standard large image thumbnail, 2. A small image thumbnail and title, 3. No image thumbnail at all only the title text.

  10. if we could just select watched to multiple movie or series at once

    it would be easy if we don't have to enter every time to change the status of the movie or series or we could just select bunch of them at once to change the status like if i see 3 movie i have already watched selecting them and changing their status to watched.

  12. Image add

    Image for Henry Danger's "The Fate of Danger: Part II" (https://www.thetvdb.com/series/henry-danger/episodes/7608679) (https://simkl.com/tv/52752/henry-danger/season-5/episode-40/) has not loaded in on Simkl. Thought it had to do with me setting the show to 'ended' on TheTVDB, but that didn't fix it. It's the only episode of Henry Danger whose image isn't up on Simkl. Once this is fixed, series should be all complete on here. Thanks in advance.

  13. Strange issue where %TMDB% does not work for some animes.

    The TMDB variable is blank on some anime's entire episodes pages, while the ANILIST variables is functioning as intended. I hope this is a quick and easy fix, with no complications at all. I am referring to the Watch Online Links section. I have noticed that it's an issue that is very common for animes aired in 2024, but I'm not sure.

  18. Export expansion

    I know you have an export feature and I really do enjoy it. I also like that your company added the feature I/others requested to list the anime in my preferred language in my export. Anyways, I am not sure if this is already possible or not but if not, but it'd be cool to be able to format my exports before saving them to the computer. Example would be the ability to have my lists formatted by genre, ratings, alphabetical, completed/watching/dropped/ etc.

  19. Android app improvement idea

    It would be more ideal to have the mobile apps be given the ability of the Crunchyroll / Netflix enhancer extension on Google Chrome. That way once you log in to your streaming services, you would be able to have them synced every half hour like the Google Chrome extension does.

  20. Be able to get notifications when a related show or a movie gets added to the database
