1. More Free Movies/Shows/Series

   I am from Greece and we have a free TVsite called ERTflix that every now and then hosts good shows, series and movies, I am also aware of the USA Tubi, it's locked to americans but still.
   My notion is, it would be a cool accomplishmend to come in condact with as many of those local TV sites (usually free ones) and offer the information to us where we can watch the material we wish for free.
   For exhample last month ertflix had Spiderman No Way Home for free and Tubi Gladiator. Not bad. They always have a movie that might be worth to watch again. It's tedius. But well worth it to us, for that I can assure you.

2. Trakt Watch History Import Issue – Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2

   Hello Simkl Support,

   I found an issue while importing my watch history from Trakt to Simkl.

   "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" imported only partially. Season 1 was imported correctly, but Season 2 was not imported at all.

   My Season 2 watch history exists on Trakt, but none of the Season 2 episodes appeared in Simkl after the import.

   Show: Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

   Issue Details:

   • Season 1 imported correctly.
   • Season 2 did not import.
   • The watch history for Season 2 is present on Trakt.
   • Other shows imported successfully.

3. Add a category or whatever that when a season is finished don't leave there on the watching list

   On the watching section there are many series that are finished that maybe they will have an upcoming season or the show is still airing, but they should not be put on the watching list, put them somewhere else, it is not correct to put them all together. It is very confusing

6. Let us filter “Airing Next” by release type

   It would be useful if the Airing Next section let us choose which types of release we want to see—for example, theatrical, streaming, digital, DVD/Blu-ray, or film festival releases.

   At the moment, a movie might say it’s coming out in three days, but when you open its page, that date is sometimes only for a film festival screening. That isn’t especially useful to most people, and you have to check each movie individually to find out when it will actually be widely available.

   A release-type filter—or at least a label beside each date—would make the Coming Soon section much more useful. Thank you.

7. Letterboxd import: prefer watched date from diary.csv over watched.csv for more accurate watch dates

   If today I were to go into Letterboxd and log a movie as having been watched a year ago, there will be two entries that show up in my exported Letterboxd data. One in watched.csv, with today's date associated with it, and one in diary.csv with the actual watch date associated with it.

   Currently Simkl is marking imported movies with the watched.csv dates only, even in cases where more accurate dates for items can be found in diary.csv. It should use dates from diary.csv instead where available.

   Note that it is possible to mark a movie as watched in Letterboxd without recording the specific date. In this case there will be no diary.csv entry, and it would be necessary to fallback to using the watched.csv entry as an indicator that the movie has been watched. In that case, using the date added as the watched date would probably be the best guess.

   Also note that unlike watched.csv, diary.csv may have multiple entries for the same movie if it was logged for multiple watches on different dates.

8. default timezone results in inaccurate watch dates when importing Letterboxd data

   Data exported from Letterboxd does not include full datetimes on items, but rather just the date. When importing data from Letterboxd, Simkl interprets that date as being 12 AM UTC on that day.

   This can result in an off-by-one day error when converting the date to the user's current timezone.

   For example, if a movie's watched date is 2026-07-20 in the Letterboxd export data, Simkl will record the movie as having been watched on 2026-07-20 at 12 AM UTC. If a user in Los Angeles then views their watch history in Simkl, it will show the movie as having been watched on 2026-07-19 at 5 PM.

   Defaulting to the user's selected timezone rather than UTC could help address this issue. Some arbitrary time will still need to be chosen since Simkl requires a time to be associated. Even with a correct timezone, 12 AM might not be the best default since it means the off-by-one issue could reoccur if the user moves even one timezone over and wants to update their account's timezone to reflect that move. Something like 12 PM might be a bit more resilient in that the date will still be accurate when moving up to ~12 timezones over in either direction.

   I imagine this issue could be present with other data sources as well, depending on whether they use full datetimes and whether they include a timezone/use UTC. I can only speak from experience for Letterboxd data, however.

   (Personal take, feel free to ignore) As a side note, I'm not a huge fan of watch dates being timezoned in the first place. If I watched a movie at 8 PM in one timezone, I'm more interested in seeing it displayed as 8 PM no matter where I am. I suppose that functionality can be accomplished by just not updating the timezone setting when moving, however, so maybe it's a non-issue.

10. Export custom/collaborative list in sonarr/radarr compatible format

    Allow us to share custom/collaborative/auto lists in a format that is compatible with radarr/sonarr for automation.

    Should be able to share the export link so that friends can add to their radarr/sonarr and automatically update when changes are made to the list without needing to manually change anything in radarr/sonarr after initially integrating the list.

    Why? - I'm part of a community that likes to post monthly recommendations and we all have radarr/sonarr. If I can create a collaborative list and have a share link that everyone can add to radarr/sonarr, it allows us to automatically get fresh recommended content without needing to do manual imports every time the list is updated.

    It's a very convenient and fun feature that all automation users can enjoy.

11. Ability to preview and selectively choose data to be imported

    When using the Trakt import for example it would be great if we could preview the data that will be imported and any changes it might make to existing watch history in Simkl, with the ability to approve or reject individual additions and changes.

    (Similar to how file syncing software allows the user to approve or ignore file modifications, overwrites and additions, before actually running the sync process.)

14. Time remaining for each show on profile page/show page

    On profile or on TV show page would be nice to have remaining time for remaining episodes to watch.
    A sort of: you will need 4days 14h to binge watch this show (remaining episodes)

18. Use profiles from TV apps on AppleTV/Roku etc. to import/track viewing history

    This will be a LOT of development hours...but...

    To address "Why can’t just import my browsing history from my cable provider?"...Well, I'd wager most of the users of SIMKL are digital natives. As cord cutters, using boxes (Roku, Firestick, Chromecast, AppleTV) or just a smart TV, BUT ALSO, we still use our parents Xfinity login credentials, a tedious strategy for importing is (theoretically) possible.

    A piecemeal method to import history from those Smart TV/Roku/Apple TV "apps" (that REQUIRE a license/login from a cable provider): FOX, CW, ABC, etc. To import viewing history from say a user’s FX profile (that’s connected to some friend's Xfinity account to authorise the FX app) would be cool hack/way of achieving this.

    Obviously, this depends on there being APIs, and a bunch of other third party (TV app dev) factors and probably is a "stretch" goal for now.

    But, just a thought.
