How can we improve Simkl?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Add option to combine TV and anime into a single tab in the app

    I get why some people want them seperated, but it would be more convenient for me to have them both together so I can view all recently aired and upcoming episodes in one place.

    Can you put a trailer in description box, so i can quckly see (when I click on it) will I watch a tv series/movies or not.

  7. Grouping anime seasons

    It would be much better if you could merge seasons of Anime, instead of Relations. So when a new related anime, OVA, or a movie is released, we just have that on the watchlist

  9. Predict your ratings...

    It will be good if the system can/will predicts your ratings for an unrated show/anime/movie before you actually rated it. That way, you know if the system predicts your taste well or not.

  10. Report buttons and Item add section

    Shows having incorrect episode counts, incorrect air dates and unlisted shows.
    Report button, so users can notify admin of specific problem.
    Series or Movie add button, to notify admin of unlisted items

  12. Scrobble videos watched from other sources

    not everyone uses paid services such as hulu, amazon or netflix.
    free streaming websites should be added, such as:
    watch-series.to
    streamtuner.ag
    shush.se
    watchcartoononline.com
    watchfree.to
    etc.

    many of these free websites are pulling their video links from online storage websites such as putlocker.is
    some of these websites get taken down and come back, or new ones appear. and the videos get taken down, and put back up with a different link.

    in order to track and scrobble these, id suggest inferring from the the video name, or video link, as well using their fingerprint software/hashing the video. could be done as…

  13. Add a playlist/subscribe feature for things like the MCU that have many titles being released that should be watched in a certain order.

    It would be nice if you could choose to have new titles from the MCU automatically added to your watchlist. Also if you could view a calendar specifically of that universe to make sure you are watching in the right order. For example, the DC superhero shows from the CW overlap episode by episode instead of season by season, which can be a nightmare to manage. Or another example would be Star Wars Clone Wars which inexplicably released episodes out of order, but someone in the Simkl community could create a playlist that has the shows in the right order.

  14. Customizable Overview Page

    More ways to customize your overview page. Like moving sections, adding new sections (like a favourites section or reviews section), adding images and text. Kinda like the steam profile page and how its so customizable.

  16. Option for dub-only episode count on anime

    I don't know if this would be harder to code than I think, but now that there's an option for separate sub/dub notifications, I think it would be useful to have an option to only count dub episodes in the total number. So, for example, I have a series that says there are 9 episodes out, but only 7 are dubbed. And sometimes dubs happen later, so it will say the whole season is out when only 1 or 2 episodes are available in English.

  17. The ability to disable a certain section entirely, like TV Shows.

    In case that someone is not interested in TV Shows entirely, then why would all that information about TV Shows appear in their profile?!. How about creating an essential option to disable such section completely, and remove all its related data (news, suggestions, recommendations, and even from the watched stats calculator!). Wouldn't that be nice?. ^_^
