How can we improve Simkl?

  1. Where to Buy (DVDs, Bluray, Disc, Streaming Gift Cards)

    The current Shop tab mainly redirects to external sites, which limits usability and comparison.

    With the growing interest in physical media (DVD, Blu-ray, collector editions), this section could be expanded into a more useful, integrated experience.

    What I am looking for is:

    • Unified Listings: Show all available editions (DVD, Blu-ray, 4K, collector sets) in one place

    • Price Comparison: Compare prices across multiple stores directly (with Price Graph)

    • Stock Alerts: Notify users when items are back in stock or drop in price

    • Region-Based Availability: Filter by country and disc region compatibility

    • Advanced Filters & Sorting: Filter by price, edition, store rating,…

  3. Import Streaming Platform Watchlists to "Plan to Watch"

    Simkl does a great job tracking what we’ve already watched, but it completely skips over unwatched shows saved to our platform-specific watchlists—like Crunchyroll’s My Queue or Netflix’s My List. These lists often represent what we actually plan to watch next, but Simkl doesn’t import them.

    The Request:
    Let users import their unwatched watchlist items from supported streaming services into Simkl’s “Plan to Watch” list. Start with Crunchyroll and expand from there.

    How It Could Work:

    A one-time bulk import of saved-but-unwatched shows

    Optional auto-sync to keep things updated when users add new items

  4. Allow users to choose default sorting + disposition of My Lists and their content

    My Lists are sorted by "last modification" by default. So if we rather have another sorting (ie: alphabetical) ones must change the "sort by" option... Every. Single. Time.

    Please allow users to choose default sorting and disposition for My Lists and their content.

  5. Language support

    Unfortunately, unlike other tracker apps, you don't provide service to people in their own language. Even if the app requires simple English, being able to use it in your native language would be a big plus. I am sure that with the help of users, the localization process will be very easy.

  6. Auto List: Plan To Watch Minimum Threshold

    I would like to see added to the SIMKL V2 Auto List functionality the ability to filter by Plan To Watch amount; requesting minimum threshold but maximum could be included also.

    Use Case would be for lists that focus on unreleased content to limit the "noise" and set a threshold of global interest before a Movie or Show surfaces.

    Currently I have a list for this purpose that is tuned as much as I can but still shows over 500 movies, with only 50 having more then 10 "Plan To Watch" notes.

    I believe it would be beneficial to have…

    For example, I’d like the MY LIST row to take up a full line.

  11. I would like to filter on premiere calendars like between languages

    I frequently use the premiere calender to find new shows and movies to watch for the next month but it is really annoying and honestly scary to see such a long list and I would love to have a filter where I can just filter based on language or other categories to see what I am interested in

  14. Crunchyroll ↔ Emby 2-Way Tracking & Sync

    I’d love to see Emby support some form of watch history and watchlist syncing with Crunchyroll, either natively or through a plugin. A 2-way sync system would be incredibly useful:

    Crunchyroll → Emby: Anything watched on Crunchyroll updates progress inside Emby.

    Emby → Crunchyroll: Anything watched in Emby updates the user’s Crunchyroll history.

    Sync watchlists, continue-watching positions, and episode progress.

    A feature like this would make managing anime libraries much easier, especially for users who alternate between streaming and local files. Even a one-way sync from Crunchyroll into Emby would be a huge improvement.

  15. Allow Hiding/Deleting Custom Lists

    I want to have more control over how many custom lists I have to scroll through to find things.
    I would like a way to hide/delete custom lists (particularly the AI recommendation lists) to reduce clutter.

  16. Customizable Rating Date/Time

    Currently there is no option to be able to set any “Custom Watched” date hopefully it will be available soon, but the rating date is always locked to “now.”

    That often creates confusion—especially if you watched something weeks ago and only just gave it a score.

    Consider adding an option where, When you mark a title as “Watched” (and haven’t rated it yet),

    • you’re prompted to rate it immediately, with the rating date automatically matching your watched date.

    • At minimum, providing a way to manually edit the rating date would be a big improvement. (When you rated this)

  17. Be able to get notifications when a related show or a movie gets added to the database

  18. Android app improvement idea

    It would be more ideal to have the mobile apps be given the ability of the Crunchyroll / Netflix enhancer extension on Google Chrome. That way once you log in to your streaming services, you would be able to have them synced every half hour like the Google Chrome extension does.

  19. Android app improvement

    I think it would be a convenient way to keep shows tracked if the mobile app had the feature of the chrome extension, that would allow you to log into the streaming services and like the Crunchyroll/Netflix enhacher, be able to automatically sync your watch history every half hour or so

  20. After selecting episode as watched automatically refresh 'next episode to watch' info panel

    When you select episodes as watched, you have to manually refresh the page for the 'your next episode to watch' info panel to update.

    It would be great if the 'your next episode to watch' info panel automatically refreshed after you select episodes as watched.
