Hi SIMKL team! Could you add an option to automatically mark a series as “Plan to Watch” in SIMKL when it’s added to a Crunchyroll Watchlist or custom Crunchylist?
To clarify, I’m referring to syncing saved series, rather than watch history, including shows where the user hasn’t watched any episodes yet.
This would be especially helpful for tracking upcoming anime. Crunchyroll lists shows from upcoming seasons in its search results and lets users add them to their Watchlist long before the first episode is released, but I don’t receive notifications when those shows officially premiere. Having those titles synced to SIMKL would help me track them ahead of release and use SIMKL’s release notifications to know when they start.
It would also help when browsing Crunchyroll’s catalog and adding several shows back to back. Instead of having to search for every title again in SIMKL and manually add it to “Plan to Watch,” those saved shows could carry over automatically.
With my current setup, a series doesn’t get added to SIMKL until I actually watch an episode. I have a large backlog saved on Crunchyroll that I haven’t started, so those titles haven’t carried over. This leaves a significant part of what I intend to watch missing from my SIMKL lists.
Ideally, this feature would import titles already saved in my Crunchyroll Watchlist and Crunchylists, then automatically sync future additions. It should skip duplicates and preserve existing watch progress or statuses in SIMKL, so shows already marked as watching or completed wouldn’t be reset to “Plan to Watch.”
I’ve attached screenshots showing the Watchlist and Crunchylists sections I mean. If this is already possible or there’s an existing request I can support, please point me in the right direction. Thank you!
