Add a Travel & Places Discovery Section for Local Experiences
Many users enjoy discovering new destinations, attractions, restaurants, and hidden gems alongside tracking their favorite entertainment content. A dedicated travel and places discovery section could help users explore recommended destinations, create travel wishlists, and share local experiences with the community.
Features such as user-generated travel guides, destination reviews, photo sharing, and personalized recommendations could increase engagement and provide additional value for travelers worldwide.
As someone who regularly covers Dubai travel guides, attractions, and local experiences through https://dubaibrief.com/, I've noticed that users actively seek community-driven recommendations rather than generic travel information. Integrating a travel discovery feature could create a more…

Movie/Series-posters
Change your movie or series poster!
We should be able to easily change movie/series posters (for ourselves). For example, this would make it easier to customize multiple copies of movies in lists. This was easily done in the TV-Time app. Below is an example of this. Unfortunately, TV-Time is no longer with us. Users thought this was so cool! Would it perhaps be possible to design this idea?

Show rating hints everywhere
When you go to rate an item from your unrated page at https://simkl.com/YOURUSERID/history/ratings/?unrated=1 there is a really helpful tooltip giving a description of each star rating.
It would be great if this was shown throughout the UI any time we go to rate an item.
I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like in case it was unclear what I'm referring to.

Allow sorting tv shows by time left to watch
In the "My TV Shows" section, please add a "My time left to watch" option. This would sort the shows by the time remaining in them that is unwatched.
The closest thing to it, that currently exists, is the "My Eps. Left to Watch" option. However, this is less helpful given different shows can have episodes of very different average lengths.I would like to be able to know which shows in my back-catalogue would be quickest to finish off.
It already has this information to pull from too. If you use the "card" view, it gives an estimate of time…

Anime Filler Episode Page
Example Pages:
- Naruto: https://simkl.com/anime/39508/naruto/filler-list/
- One Piece: https://simkl.com/anime/38636/one-piece/filler-list/
- Bleach: https://simkl.com/anime/41066/bleach/filler-list/
The current filler list page on SIMKL is very amazingly designed it pretty much has all that a user require, but still a few features that would make it overpowered for anime fans, that are missing like:
1. Ability to hide episode title (Spoiler protections)
2. A lot of time, new watcher of Naruto or Bleach or One Piece, often have the same question,
- Can I Skip this episode?
- Is this episode worth watching?
- Is this filler actually good?
- Safe to Skip?
3. Maybe also showing a small stats for: Watched

"Fade Watched" in lists dims the poster and title too much
Pretty self explanatory. I think it should be 10% brighter.

Ability to preview and selectively choose data to be imported
When using the Trakt import for example it would be great if we could preview the data that will be imported and any changes it might make to existing watch history in Simkl, with the ability to approve or reject individual additions and changes.
(Similar to how file syncing software allows the user to approve or ignore file modifications, overwrites and additions, before actually running the sync process.)

Is it possible to choose what to show on my dashboard, removing options like premieres and last aired if they don't apply to me?

Export custom/collaborative list in sonarr/radarr compatible format
Allow us to share custom/collaborative/auto lists in a format that is compatible with radarr/sonarr for automation.
Should be able to share the export link so that friends can add to their radarr/sonarr and automatically update when changes are made to the list without needing to manually change anything in radarr/sonarr after initially integrating the list.
Why? - I'm part of a community that likes to post monthly recommendations and we all have radarr/sonarr. If I can create a collaborative list and have a share link that everyone can add to radarr/sonarr, it allows us to automatically get fresh recommended content…

Recap for: Movies & Anime Episodes
Noticed that Episode Recap is currently only shown on TV Shows... Its missing on Anime Episode/Films & Also Movies.
Chapter-Based Recaps for 2–3 Hour Movies:
Feature-length movies can be a lot to digest!
It’d be great to have Scene-by-Scene Chapter Recaps for long films, breaking the plot down into timestamped chapters so users can easily catch up or refresh their memory on specific parts of the movie without rewatching the whole thing.
- Spoiler Protection: Keep scene-by-scene recaps hidden by default, revealing them only for users who have marked the movie as "Watched", with an explicit click-to-reveal warning for anyone willing…

Context-Aware Dynamic Footer Links
The current footer is identical across most SIMKL pages and feels repetitive. It would be great if it became context-aware, showing useful links based on the section you're browsing.
(At least, for regular SIMKL members, who are familiar with the website)
This would make the footer more useful, improve content discovery, and give each section of SIMKL a more dynamic feel without changing the main UI.
Instead of displaying the same links everywhere, why not make the footer context-aware and adapt based on the section the user is currently browsing?
Examples:
🎬 Movies
- Top 100 Movies
- Most Anticipated
- Most Rewatched

it would be really useful if SIMKL could provide official API endpoints for browsing and reading lists
Hello,
it would be really useful if SIMKL could provide official API endpoints for browsing and reading public lists and user custom lists.
- custom lists
- most liked / trending lists
- user-created lists
- reading the actual contents of a list
It would be great to have endpoints that allow developers to:
* fetch list metadata
* browse lists
* browse user custom lists
* retrieve all items inside a listThank you.

default timezone results in inaccurate watch dates when importing Letterboxd data
Data exported from Letterboxd does not include full datetimes on items, but rather just the date. When importing data from Letterboxd, Simkl interprets that date as being 12 AM UTC on that day.
This can result in an off-by-one day error when converting the date to the user's current timezone.
For example, if a movie's watched date is 2026-07-20 in the Letterboxd export data, Simkl will record the movie as having been watched on 2026-07-20 at 12 AM UTC. If a user in Los Angeles then views their watch history in Simkl, it will show the movie as having been…

Letterboxd import: prefer watched date from diary.csv over watched.csv for more accurate watch dates
If today I were to go into Letterboxd and log a movie as having been watched a year ago, there will be two entries that show up in my exported Letterboxd data. One in watched.csv, with today's date associated with it, and one in diary.csv with the actual watch date associated with it.
Currently Simkl is marking imported movies with the watched.csv dates only, even in cases where more accurate dates for items can be found in diary.csv. It should use dates from diary.csv instead where available.
Note that it is possible to mark a movie as watched in Letterboxd…

Let us filter “Airing Next” by release type
It would be useful if the Airing Next section let us choose which types of release we want to see—for example, theatrical, streaming, digital, DVD/Blu-ray, or film festival releases.
At the moment, a movie might say it’s coming out in three days, but when you open its page, that date is sometimes only for a film festival screening. That isn’t especially useful to most people, and you have to check each movie individually to find out when it will actually be widely available.
A release-type filter—or at least a label beside each date—would make the Coming Soon section much more…

2 way Sync with Emby Server
The Emby plugin for SIMKL is helpful but not very sophisticated, the effort the dev put it is obviously appreciated but wouldn't it be great to have an official SIMKL version that had two way syncing, it'd be great to change the watch state on either platform and have that sync across.
As a side note, also have the 2 way sync work when manually marking something as watched, currently the Emby plugin only works when the watch state reaches a pre-defined % that's set-up when you configure the plugin.
