Let the visitor default sort on My Movies, My TV Shows, and My Anime be changed from "Rank"
Every time I open someone else’s My Movies, My TV Shows, or My Anime, it feels like I am seeing IMDb Top 250 or MAL Top Anime. Everything is ordered by IMDB or MAL Ranking, so every profile looks the same. There is no uniqueness.
My Movies, My TV Shows, and My Anime always open on "Rank" for visitors. The list owner can already change sort and save it. That saved sort is only for the owner. This request is not “show visitors the owner’s saved sort.” What is missing: a way to change the visitor default so that My…

Movie/Series-posters
Change your movie or series poster!
We should be able to easily change movie/series posters (for ourselves). For example, this would make it easier to customize multiple copies of movies in lists. This was easily done in the TV-Time app. Below is an example of this. Unfortunately, TV-Time is no longer with us. Users thought this was so cool! Would it perhaps be possible to design this idea?

Allow sorting tv shows by time left to watch
In the "My TV Shows" section, please add a "My time left to watch" option. This would sort the shows by the time remaining in them that is unwatched.
The closest thing to it, that currently exists, is the "My Eps. Left to Watch" option. However, this is less helpful given different shows can have episodes of very different average lengths.I would like to be able to know which shows in my back-catalogue would be quickest to finish off.
It already has this information to pull from too. If you use the "card" view, it gives an estimate of time…

On-site Notification Center for New Releases
Simkl currently supports email and push notifications for new episodes, films, and anime, but some may find these channels overwhelming or easy to miss. E-Mails get buried in crowded inboxes, and mobile push notifications are quickly dismissed and forgotten.
Thus the idea to introduce a dedicated, persistent notification system directly on the Simkl website.
Key Features:
- On-site Notification Center / Meta Box
A clickable icon (e.g. bell) in the header or sidebar showing the number of unread notifications.
- Structured History View

Show voice actors etc. based on the users set language
Pay tribute to those whose voices make not only Animes come to life, but also transfer jokes to our mother tongue. Never ask yourself again where you know that voice from.
Sorted or filtered by language, maybe a setting in the user settings that uses the browsers language as default. Fallback could be English.

Actor Pages as checklists (sort & filter entries)
I'd like Actor Pages to have the ability to sort/filter specific actor's TV shows (or movies) by status [completed, watching, plan to watch]. Maybe also by runtime, rating, or some other statistic.
So we would essentially be able to use the actor pages as sort of a checklist for what we've seen from that actor or director, track a full filmography from a favorite actor, easily find a missed gem, bring their highest rated entries to the top to easily see what's worth checking out.

universal toggle to hide all specials on the website.
When I search (in anime) random title just want to see season 1,2,3 etc I don't want ova's and other specials

Basic Age Protection
currently a minor can log on to the front page and be exposed to R18+ show posters/titles
it would be great to at least add protection where they can select thier age before the site loads and have the website only show age appropriate shows to the age they selected.
it does not have to be invasive and have awful age verification nonsense included, it just needs to give consent back to the viewer so they can't accidentally see things they did not want to.
i have also seen improvement ideas on this forum about adding hentai and other nsfw…

Small wording suggestion for the end-of-list counter
Right now it reads "You have seen 98 of 98 results from this list." On a site built around tracking what you've watched, "seen" reads as "watched" at first glance. I did a double take thinking I'd somehow marked all 98 as seen.
Something neutral would clear it up instantly, e.g.:
- "Displaying 98 of 98 results from this list"
- "Listing 98 of 98 items"
- "Items 98 of 98 from list"Tiny thing, but it would remove an ambiguity that's unique to watch-tracking context. Thanks for all the work on the site!

On profile lists, make the user’s rating yellow instead of IMDb / MAL
On someone else’s My Movies / My TV Shows / My Anime, IMDb and MAL ratings are yellow. The profile owner’s rating is not.
Yellow pulls the eye first. On a profile, that person’s rating should be the one that stands out. Right now IMDb / MAL look more important than the user’s score.
The list owner can already hide IMDb and MAL ratings and save that layout. This request is only for visitors, because visitors get the default layout. In that default, IMDb / MAL are yellow.Request:

Show rating hints everywhere
When you go to rate an item from your unrated page at https://simkl.com/YOURUSERID/history/ratings/?unrated=1 there is a really helpful tooltip giving a description of each star rating.
It would be great if this was shown throughout the UI any time we go to rate an item.
I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like in case it was unclear what I'm referring to.
