How can we improve Simkl?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  2. Auto drop series after x time

    A feature to put series that the users haven't watched after a while to "dropped" this would make the "dropped" status used much more.

    Best way would be to let the user decide the "time limit" and if the user wants it or not. It should also only count series that have new aired episodes that the user haven't watched to avoid problems when waiting for a new season.

  4. option for choosing platforms

    I'd love to have an option where I can choose on which platforms I'm watching.
    Like Boxes to tick.

    Only show content, thats available on
    - Netflix
    - crunchroll
    ...

  5. Ratings/Stars should also have a word value like MAL

    When you hover over the stars to rate a show, the associated star should also have a word value just like in MAL.

    e.g.

    10* Masterpiece
    9* Great
    8* Very good
    7* Good
    6* Fine
    5* Average
    4* Bad
    3* Very Bad
    2* Horrible
    1* Appalling

  6. Calendar display

    I think it would be a good idea if we could have some way to customize de display of our calendar. For example de size o it, the colours, if we want to show the images of the shows or only the text, etc..

  12. Grouping anime seasons

    It would be much better if you could merge seasons of Anime, instead of Relations. So when a new related anime, OVA, or a movie is released, we just have that on the watchlist

    It will be good if the system can/will predicts your ratings for an unrated show/anime/movie before you actually rated it. That way, you know if the system predicts your taste well or not.

    More ways to customize your overview page. Like moving sections, adding new sections (like a favourites section or reviews section), adding images and text. Kinda like the steam profile page and how its so customizable.

  17. Add a playlist/subscribe feature for things like the MCU that have many titles being released that should be watched in a certain order.

    It would be nice if you could choose to have new titles from the MCU automatically added to your watchlist. Also if you could view a calendar specifically of that universe to make sure you are watching in the right order. For example, the DC superhero shows from the CW overlap episode by episode instead of season by season, which can be a nightmare to manage. Or another example would be Star Wars Clone Wars which inexplicably released episodes out of order, but someone in the Simkl community could create a playlist that has the shows in the right order.

  18. UX enhancement - Unify the search box

    Summary : Users are dumb, help them and reduce the simkl teams support workload.

    The vast majority of support threads are along the lines of "My show/movie/animie" is not listed

    🔹 Missing - 68 support threads
    🔹 Missing Movie - 244 support threads
    🔹 Missing tv show - 358 support threads

    If the search results were unified i.e. searching for "Utopia" gives the result for the TV Show, The Movie and The Anime, in one place, reducing the number of "my thing is missing / please add it" threads would be reduced.

  20. The ability to disable a certain section entirely, like TV Shows.

    In case that someone is not interested in TV Shows entirely, then why would all that information about TV Shows appear in their profile?!. How about creating an essential option to disable such section completely, and remove all its related data (news, suggestions, recommendations, and even from the watched stats calculator!). Wouldn't that be nice?. ^_^
