How can we improve Simkl?

  2. Minor changes to calendar

    I'm a heavy user of the calendar page and would like to see some improvements.

    An option to start the week on Sunday instead of Monday
    Different colors for new season episodes and season finales. Series premieres (S01E01) are currently a yellow color, possibly make a S02E02 show up as blue when they air? Season finale as a red? For example, The Expanse is airing two episode finale, I'd like to see the final episode highlighted more so it's recognizable at a glance.
    Displaying of shows that air two episodes at once. For example, Marvel's Spider-man premiered season 2 with…

    Here’s how you can set it up:

    • Jump into your Settings Menu https://simkl.com/settings/pagination/
    • Scroll down the new option titled "First Day of the Week"
    • Choose your preferred start day:Saturday (popular in some Middle Eastern countries)
      Sunday (a favorite in the US, Canada, and parts of Latin America)
      Monday (the go-to in Europe, Asia, and many other places)

    Now it automatically detects your current country and auto detects which day of the week it should start from or you can lock in your favorite day in the Settings (especially if you use VPN and change countries often).

  5. Android Chrome notifications not working - why not use app instead?

    The HTML 5 notifications on android Chrome are not working. Probably something that needs to be fixed by Google but...

    Why go through adding more points of failure? Why can't the actual SIMKL app send its own notifications without having to resort to third party apps like Chrome or IFTTT? It's too much bloat for something very simple: An app that sends its own notifications.

    Good news everyone with an Android phone! We’ve just updated the Simkl Lists for Android app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simkl.lists with two new updates:
    1. The app can now receive notifications when a new episode is out and all other notifications from your notifications settings https://simkl.com/settings/! When clicking the notifications, will open a browser inside the app with that episode for example.
    2. You can now click episodes in show details and season lists, which will open the website with full details.

    Go download the app if you have not already at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simkl.lists

    iOS app is also in the works and will update soon.

  13. Addfilter to calendar for ratings

    Love that you have film releases sorted by calendar date.

    However, why can't I seem to filter out the Porn releases?! Nothing like flipping through the list of releases with kids only to see a bunch of porn stars blowing guys or playing with themselves.

    Adding any sort of rating and/or genre filtering to the Premiere Calendar would be lovely.

    Click mark all episodes or click on the last episode you watched to see the popup asking to mark all previous episodes. Putting show into Completed also marks all aired episodes.
