How can we improve Simkl?

  1. We need a way to locate foreign movies & series based upon Language and Country

    Although various site offer some foreign films, I have not found ANY site which provides an easy, logical way to locate them.

    We need a way to search for movies by audio language AND subtitle language. This would be extremely attractive to those bi-linguals, multi-linguals, and those who are interested in learning or perfecting an additional language. It would also dramatically increase the volume of high quality content available for Simkl.

  2. Hide TV/Anime/Movies that are Not Interesting

    Can you please make it possible to hide items selected as Not Interesting across the website when viewing TV/Anime/Movies, calendars, etc.?

    Currently items rated Not Interesting are showing up in:

    • Dashboard -> Premiers & Last Aired sections
    • TV/Anime -> Posters are greyed out, but would prefer them to just not be shown as I have already decided I'm not interested and rated as such.
    • Movies -> Show as a thumbs down in certain sections and would rather not see them at all.

    If you do not wish to hide items, then please allow filtering like is seen for Movies under…

  3. Option to add a movie that is not in the database

    Add on option so when there is a movie that is not in Simkl database we can ask so it is added to the database. It would be good to add a link to IMDb so we can tell which movie is missing

  5. One little stupid thing :)

    "W" or "w" appear in the button of "Plan to Watch". It is strange :)

    In lowercase when you are going to select it and when you have selected it without reloading the page. And in capital letters when you reload the page or access again in a film / series that is already marked as view.

  6. Apply filters and better sort options to your lists

    I can't find a way to filter by genre AND sort by my personal rating (score) for the movies I've watched. In other words, if someone asks me, "What are the best sci-fi movies you've watched in the last 10 years?" I would NOT be able to find that information easily in Simkl because there's no way to filter by genre and sort by my own rating on a single page.

    More info: The profile page allows me to sort by my personal rating (score), but there's no genre filter there. And the movies page allows me to filter by…

  7. Eliminate chapter 8x23 Blue Bloods (It does not exist)

    Season 8 has 22 chapters. Consequently, the last episode is the 8x22.

  8. Remove the 'Waiting for your rating section' in profile

    As I don't rate movies, shows and anime I find it a bit annoying when I visit my profile, I always see that Movies and shows waiting for my rating section.

    Would love to have a option to disable that.

    Please add Wikipedia link for shows/movies. It is very informative and provides the information in a more concise manner than alternatives without ads.

  13. Expand list of streaming options (i.e. Amazon Prime, Crunchyroll, Funimation, Crackle, etc)

    Listed streaming options should be expanded to include Amazon Prime, Crunchyroll, Funimation, Adult Swim, Crackle, TubiTV, and other popular streaming options. Reelgood is a competitor that has many of these options listed when on a title's information page.

  14. Sync MAL & SIMKL

    Sync MAL & SIMKL so that whenever I mark an episode as watched/completed/not interested it automatically updates MAL. The way it is now, whenever I watch a new anime episode or update an anime to completed/Not interested/plan to watch I have to update it on both sides separately. Be great if I could update if on SIMKL and have it update on my MAL

  16. Sort by time to watch

    When I'm choosing the next show/movie to watch, I usually go by what genre I want and then by how long it wold take to watch. I remember the genre of shows by their name, but I never know how long it would take to watch them. I can open up a new tab for the show to find out, but if I could sort by time to watch (like we can with name, rank, etc) that would be really nice. It doesn't need to be exact, the guesstimate that's shown on show pages would be plenty.

  17. Filtering TVShows by missed/not watched episodes.

    Sorting Watching TVShows by which shows I am behind on.
    Saw added functionality will come for filtering of lists.
    Please add a filter to enable me to see which shows I've missed episodes or seasons of.

  18. Clearly list streaming options from a title's main page

    Right now you have to click on an episode to see the available streaming options, but there should be a clear list of available streaming options for the series in general from the main information page of any title. This is a feature on the mobile apps.

  19. Better lists and overviews.

    In the 'currently watching', you should have a divider. Over the line should the 'my list' that is displayed on your profile, and underneath it, all 'currently watching' that you are up to date on.

    Also, Adding a 'on hold' status. You sometimes want to take a break - and not have it in 'currently', but not in the 'dropped either'.

    Also, would be nice with custom lists. Not as a status, but where you can gather things like 'movies I recommend for dates' etc.

  20. Watching list to have only shows with unwatched episodes

    The watching list is filled with a lot of shows that I've complete to date, but they are still airing. I would it so that I don't see those shows in my list when deciding what to watch. This could either be by putting them on a different list or having any of the filter options group all of those together.
