I can’t understand why this feature isn’t available yet. Every platform (especially IMDb) that Simkl uses already has it.

Yea being able to see a list based on director / actor etc. would be super useful.

@Andrew Masyk Great to hear that! :) Please do not forget voice actors for the different languages, for Animes they are as important as real actors and for TV shows and movies they are important too.

This is also available on Imdb and very useful. Actors, directors involved in the movie / tv show, with each their own dedicated page where you can see all the works they've been involved in and which one you rated.

Trakt does this perfecty, showing me in what movie or tv series I know an actor or director from, and what other media they are involved with.

There have been many comments but still no concrete answers. Back in March 2025, Andrew Masyk stated that “adding actor/director data is planned for 2025.” There are now only nineteen days left in the year, and - call me cynical - I do not believe this is going to happen. It is frustrating to see feature commitments made without any follow-through or fruition. As one user stated, it is crazy that this feature isn't already implemented, the whole premise of apps like this is to immerse the user into information about their favourite actor, or checking out what else they are acting in etc - but you don't' need telling about this feature or a use-case scenario you already know the benefits of this kind of interaction yet it remains absent except for what appears to be false promise!

This is a show stopper for me.

I want to watch the movies of an actor I like, say Johnny Depp. Instead of typing them one by one, I think it would be more convenient and efficient if I just typed his name and it would appear. I wish you good luck.

I see this was requested over 7 years ago and nothing happend since then. Any chance this feature will be added in the near future?

All movies/shows in Trakt.tv have a menu that list the cast members, which usually includes photos of the actors. This would be a great feature to add to SIMKL, then I can drop trakt completely.

Yes, -the cast & crew (section)- when they add the names, also they need to add their photos too, and when click of them, it should show their profile/biography and movies or TV Shows that they participate. Also we need to save them in a custom list. e.g: Best actresses, best actors, best directors...

On your profile too, you can then view by actors (Similar to Anilist) and see which actors you watch the most and it shows from what movies

Same for directors

How is this critical feature still not available? Related to this it should also be possible to view all movies within a collection right next to each other..

A must I think, and should be top priority. One of the things that really keep me using Trakt, but I'm loving Simkl so far, although a few major issues are missing, like this one.

When will the "cast" info for shows be added? Seems like that should be there.

I'm a big fan of how Letterboxd has their Actors pages and was curious how you were going to handle this. I like how they list the cast for each movie, how you can link to each actors page which has a nice layout.

For your TV show casts - most sites limit the cast list to the main cast, but i'd love the idea of having recurring guest stars listed as well. I mean, there's no need to list every single actor that's ever appeared on a show, that'd be ridiculous, but many shows have significant actors who appear sporadically throughout it's run.
