UI improvements for more menu
These are all improvements for the menu that appears when hovering over a film/tv show. The one that shows "More" menu and the rating at the bottom.
First of all, get rid of the menu. Don't make me click twice to add a movie to my plan to watch, watched or whatever. On hover, line some icons on the left and right and have the the words of what the icon does appear when you hover over it. It should only take one click for me to mark something as something I want to watch, have watched or whatever.
Never ever ever bring up a modal dialog. The Javascript alert method is for when you want to annoy the crap out of your customers. Using it makes for a terrible user experience for so many reasons. When those models are up, the browser has some odd behavior that can be very frustrating. Just stop. Make a place to put messages and errors in your design. I'm pointing this out because I've seen a modal when I click "complete" and a show is still airing, sometimes for shows that stopped airing in the 1990s.
If I click "completed" and the show is still airing, it means that I've seen all the episodes that have aired. Either remove the option in the menu or make it mark all the episodes that have aired as watched and leave the rest as unwatched. But, never show a modal with a message. See above about using Javascript's alert method.
One last thing. Not all movie/tv show posters have a readable or obvious title on them. Either put the title around the poster somewhere or make the title show up when hovering the mouse over the poster. It's really annoying when I see a poster and then have no idea what the title of the film is. Sometimes I don't recognise a poster for a show I've seen and sometimes I just don't remember the title. It's important information. Don't hide it.
