Auto update new seasons of completed/watching anime into my watch list.
Just like how when tv shows release new seasons simkl auto combines them and informs you there's new episodes to watch.
Currently with anime I get no notifications new seasons are out and it doesn't automatically go into my watch list.

I completely agree with both comments. This is also one of my biggest concerns after migrating from TV Time.
I don’t want to manually add every future sequel season to Plan to Watch just to make sure I don’t lose track of it. If I have watched or completed an anime, any newly released related season should automatically appear in a persistent Next Up / Watching overview until I start or complete it.
A one-time notification is helpful, but it is not enough. I often return to a series months later, so without a permanent reminder it would be very easy to forget that a new season exists.
An option to automatically follow future sequel seasons, or at least keep them visible as unwatched continuations, would make Simkl much more practical as a long-term tracker. This is currently one of the main issues making me unsure whether I can fully switch to Simkl.

Thank you for adding anime relations and notifications. While this is a helpful improvement, it doesn't completely solve the issue. I migrated from TV Time, and I expected new seasons of anime I'm watching or have completed to automatically appear in my Watching or Plan to Watch list. Otherwise, it's still easy to miss a new season because I have to manually add it before I can receive episode notifications. It would be great if Simkl could automatically follow future sequel seasons or at least prompt users to add them with a single click. This would make anime tracking much more convenient. Thank you for considering this feature.

This is the reason I joined Simkl, to get notifications when a new season of a show I previously watched is airing. (I binge so I'd prefer to get notified after the season finishes, but I'll take anything.)
Upon learning this feature doesn't exist and that I have to manually set all of my watched shows to 'plan to watch', is tedious and quite possibly a deal breaker for me. I probably will not use Simkl because of this single lack of functionality.

This probably isn't going to work because simkl (luckily) uses AniDB for animes. Plus the westernized thing of using seasons isn't how it's intended to be.
Also 2 way sync with MAL or importing from anilist, kitsu would break.
Pretty much all anime databases aren't using "seasons". I love that about simkl.
Otherwise I could have stick to trakt which relies solely on tmdb and their anime rules, airdates, seasons (they're doing seasons differently than anyone else even than imdb or tvdb) suck.

This will be a great addon, to make it easier to remain immersed in your shows. Having new seasons added trip watch list and through notifications will add completeness
